Job Summary

Under the close supervision of the Warehouse Lead, the primary function of the Material Handler II is to utilize the resources of the warehouse, maximize warehouse efficiency, and service to the customer while keeping operating expense at a minimum.  Ensuring that all inventory received is accounted for and placed in the proper storage locations while stocking and replenishment for parts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives supplies, materials, and checks against appropriate corresponding paperwork such as a purchase orders, packing list, etc.
  • Unloads merchandise from trucks or containers.
  • Responsible for the fast, accurate verifying, receiving and documenting returns from customers.
  • Ability to generate and verify printed copies of RMA’s and SED’s.
  • Accurate and complete labeling of boxes and pallets to comply with internal SOP’s.
  • Can effectively copy, scan and file shipping documentation to assure Makita’s ability to provide backup0 documentation and historical records.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize internal SED system.
  • Ability to assist with multiple receiving functions.
  • Maintains neat, orderly, clean and safe work areas; this can and will include sweeping, dusting, trash disposal and other miscellaneous sanitation duties as assigned.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack equipment safely, and become OSHA certified.
  • Assists in periodic physical inventory of stock on hand and in maintaining perpetual inventory.
  • Must be able to interpret data of warehouse system and key pertinent information.
  • Observes and practices proper safety procedures.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work load requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates the ability to use RP WMS and RF gun proficiently.

  • Ability to manage time to complete the assigned work.


Education, Skills and/or Experience Needed:

  • 2 years minimum of warehouse experience or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Experience with desktop software applications. Fed Ex and UPA parcel systems
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to complete forklift certification process.
  • Good general math skills a must.
  • Must have problem solving abilities.

Physical Demands: 

  • May be subjected to working overtime as required, weekends or irregular hours.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is sometimes hot or cold and subject to loud noises, hazardous materials, chemicals, etc.
  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, or reach for extended time.
  • Requires ability to lift, push, pull, items up to 65 lb
