Job Summary:

Under supervision of the Inventory Control Supervisor, is responsible for executing the daily tasks which fall under the inventory control department in an office environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile stock discrepancies between WMS and BPCS.
  • Processes the back order report and orders b/o items from other branches.
  • Enters and verifies inventory adjustments in WMS / BPCS.
  • Research and resolve receiving discrepancies.
  • Interfaces with all branches and FSC’s regarding branch transfers, etc.
  • Assists in solving inventory variances and miss-ships as needed.
  • Takes part in periodic physical inventory of stock on hand and in maintaining perpetual inventory.
  • Conducting cycle counts.
  • May supply other departments with shipping information as to arrival of certain product.
  • Runs, organizes and distributes particular computer reports upon request.
  • Utilizing WMS, assigns emergency replenishments as requested.
  • Working knowledge of the receiving department and ability to research and resolve receiving issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education, Skills and/or Experience Needed:

  • 1-2 years performing inventory operations in a distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of principles of accounting and demand planning.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, word, and Power Point).
  • Excellent math skills and analytical thought processes.
  • Self-starter, detail oriented and able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task on a daily basis.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 10 key data entry
  • Knowledge of Red Prairie WMS software helpful, but not required.


Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must have problem solving abilities, able to interface with all departments, must be able to retain information and have excellent follow-up skills.


Physical Demands:

  • This position requires ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, bend, stoop or reach.
  • May be subjected to working overtime as required.
  • Able to work in an environment that may be subject to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials, chemicals, etc.
  • May occasionally be required to lift, push, or pull items up to 70 lbs.
