Job Summary:

Makita U.S.A., Inc. distributes power tool products and accessories to the U.S. market from strategically located distribution centers throughout the USA and is headquartered in La Mirada, CA.   The Supply Chain department is tasked with creating value for Makita and it customers planning inventory to efficiently meet customer’s needs, while effectively using Makita’s resources. ­The role of the Supply Chain Analyst is to support the needs of the department by ensuring product availability, providing accurate information, and analyzing the supply chain to drive value for Makita’s customers.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proactive communication with vendors to effectively manage purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Review shipping documents for accuracy and update inbound shipment data in Makita’s ERP system.
  • Analyze Makita’s supply chain to find cost reduction or opportunities to add value to customers.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and vendors to design and plan repacks.
  • Review and prepare import and export information for Makita’s customs broker.
  • Seek to grow professionally through continued education, study, and interaction with others.
  • Go above and beyond to serve customers and other members of the Makita team.
  • Work on other projects and tasks as directed by the Supply Chain Manager or Lead.


Education, Skills, and Experience Needed:

  • General understanding of the supply chain including logistics, vendor management, and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical ability and critical thinking.
  • Strong task management and organizational ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to learn and contribute to the success of the team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and may be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
